hello!!i shall update since its the first day of attachment!!
so yes yesterday(sunday) amanda and i attended a service at some cathedral! it was HUGEE!! i slept through the whole service btw! amanda was such a darling! she just sat next to me the whole time even though there were bits where we were suppose to stand! hahaha.. i really cana't take these boring old traditional services!hahaha.. so anyways! after that we headed down to chinatown! walked into the chinese supermarket too! they sell pocky!, pancake duck!, siu mai, ha gao and dumplings!! like omgosh! chinese food heaven! so yup after that we headed home to rest cos we were tired and it was a rather long walk home!
TODAY!!
woke up at 7-ish, had breakfast left at 8.40 and made our way to the merseybio building( The biosciences building) Its really really really really really really really really nice!!! every level is colour coded!!! i'm working on the green level and amanda's on the blue level below me! Everything is green i tell you! even the lockers, doors, floors and chairs are green!!
Anyways! when we arrived at the building we were standing infront of this board with all the professors names like idiots! cos we kinda din know where to go first. so anyway after much staring.. Amanda's supervisor came up to us and asked us if we were the girls from Singapore!! hahaha.. yay! we were saved! so then we followed him up to his office, put our stuff down and he gave us a really brief tour of the labs! the labs are quite huge! and the building is built so uniquely its a semi circle! anyways.. amanda's professor then handed us over to Gregor, his irish senior technician! he's really nice and funny! he thought we were from CHINA!!! hahahaha. stereotyping!! so Gregor brought us all over the place.. to the canteen, the other labs, the preparation room and to the canteen! he even brought us out on to the street to tell us where else we could eat! so nice right!?! bet you all are jealous!! ahahahahhaa. oh yeah! we also went to the aquarium! its much squashier compared to the ones in ngeeann. but they had this blind cave fish! they have NO eyes! they are like born with NO eyes!! there just ARN'T ANY eyes!!! like omgosh!!! so yup.. they use to have pirrahnas as well, but unfortunately there weren't any when we went down to see it. So for lunch both our supervisors brought us out for lunch! we had kish, chocolate cake and apple strudle! Fantastic! so nice of them. hmm.. oh yes.. after lunch Gregor brought us to see the safety officer so that we can get our swipe cards! so cool right! SWIpE CarDS! like woah!! hahahahaha.. then he brought us back to his office to teach us how to calculate moles.. really good refreasher i must say! so yup that was the end of our first day of work! hahaha.. cooked dinner just now, absolutely scrumptious! macaroni, sausages, mushrooms in cream! yummy!!
